What is the Temple Tumble Megaways Slot?

Retro video gaming fans will feel right at home with the Temple Tumble Megaways theme. The game opens with a short intro detailing the adventures of its protagonist. He avoids snakes, fights tigers, and eventually makes it through a clearing in the forest where he finds a stone entranceway. This stone entrance serves as the game’s main screen, with the individual blocks flipping to reveal colourful symbols, including Red Masks, Golden Masks, and coloured gems. The game’s features include:
  • Megaways
  • Wilds
  • Bonus Spins
  • Extra Spins
  • Multipliers

Temple Tumble Megaways Features

The size of the game reels is the most instantly noticeable thing about Temple Tumble Megaways, as it uses an unusual 6x6 grid. The features are where Temple Tumble Megaways comes to life, though, so let’s take a closer look at how these work:

Wild Symbol

As noted above, you need to reveal winning paylines to ensure those blocks keep bursting and those symbols keep dropping. The Wild helps a lot with this, as it substitutes for all of the game’s regular symbols and can appear multiple times in the same column. You can reveal the Wild on all but the first column and it'll always trigger payouts relating to the lines it completes. For instance, if 5 Wild symbols are added to a single Golden Mask, you’ll get 1x per payline, just as if there was a line of 6 Golden Masks. The fact that the Wild can’t appear on the first reel means it’s not possible to have a winning payline of just Wild symbols.

Megaways

Megaways is a slot mechanic that was originally created by Big Time Gaming and has since been licensed to many other developers, including Relax Gaming, who have used it in Temple Tumble Megaways. It might be a little different from what you’re used to, though. Rather than randomising the total number of symbols and reels to create a varied payline count for every spin, Temple Tumble Megaways changes how many blocks are visible by blocking off large portions of the grid. Whenever you land a winning payline—formed by connecting at least three matching symbols—the surrounding blocks are cracked open and all of the winning symbols disappear. New symbols then fall into the spaces left by the winning blocks and previously unseen blocks, thus expanding the game reels. If there is another win, the process will repeat, and this keeps happening until the reels are full and there are no more payouts. Only when the wins stop is the total payout triggered, at which point the reels return to normal in anticipation of the next spin.

Bonus Spins

If you destroy all of the stone blocks in the main game, you'll activate the Bonus Spins feature. 6 Bonus Spins are awarded when this happens and you can choose between three different features, each offering a balanced mix of add-ons: Multipliers: Special stone blocks that contain 1x, 2x, and 3x multipliers are added to the spins. Extra Spins: Extra stone blocks contain 1, 2, and 3 Extra Spins, all of which will be added to your current game total. Multipliers and Extra Spins: A combination of the above are added. There is not necessarily a “better” option here. What’s more, it’s possible to unlock an additional 3 spins in all of these modes. These spins are triggered when all of the stone blocks are destroyed, an event that can happen every single spin.

Summary of Temple Tumble Megaways Slot

Temple Tumble Megaways blends two slot mechanics that we have seen a lot of in recent years: Megaways and Cascading Reels. It’s a slot that scratches an itch for people who grew up watching classic adventure films and playing treasure hunting video games, and one that’s capped off with a big 7,767x maximum win.
