Millionaire Megapays

Who Wants to be a Millionaire has been around for years. So, obviously, it’s already inspired  a classic slot game. We have that too at Casumo — no worries. However, this Megapays version from Big Time Gaming ups the ante! It adds a progressive jackpot with four levels and a cascading wins Megapays system. That's on top of the bonus spins round, which has some unique mechanics inspired by the show. For example, you can wager your bonus spins with the Hot Seat Gamble Feature , and a right answer means more spins. You even get the iconic “lifelines” from the TV series: phone a friend, 50/50, and ask the audience. Also, there are up to 50 bonus spins available, if you hit the top level. Sadly, there's no Chris Tarrant or Jeremy Clarkson, but you can't have everything!

Progressive Jackpot

You'll need to triggerthe Megapays feature to have a chance of seeing the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Megapays top prize. So, how do you do that? Well, you have to land one Megapay symbol first. These are gold-coloured versions of the usual slot symbols — and they cover more than one position as well. Land one, and they'll lock in place for a reel respin. Then you might hit two, and so on. From there, you need 15 Megapays symbols in a row to get the top progressive jackpot. Wow! However, there are other scaling jackpot prizes along the way. Starting at 100, for 4-7 Megapays symbols. If all this sounds like a lot to watch out for — it is. Luckily, there's a helpful bar on the side to keep track for you.

Cascading Reels

Cascading reels is a common slot feature at Casumo. You'll see it all the time. Cascading reels allow winning combinations to disappear after hitting. Then new symbols fall in to replace them. These can also win, causing more symbols to come in and so on. During bonus spins,  each consecutive win comes with a multiplier attached. The cascading reels are super useful in this game, especially when they combine with the extended Megapays features. When a cascading win allows a  Megapays symbol to land… it makes for some great gameplay!

Bonus Spins Round

The Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Bonus Spins Round starts when you hit three scatter symbols. You get 8 bonus spins. However, you can gamble them against the letters A, B and C. There's no reasoning — you just have to guess. Alternatively, you can take your 8 bonus spins. If you get up to the top level, you can get up to 50 bonus spins. Either way, once you start the spins — you'll get some extra features. Every time you hit a cascading reel win, a 1x multiplier goes up a level. There's no limit to how highthis can stack. This is the main way you'll see big wins like the highest possible win of 72,130x (outside of the jackpot). You also get unlimited retrigger spins if you hit more scatters.

Who Wants to be a Millionaire Megapays: a Summary

This game takes the original Who Wants To Be a Millionaire slot game and just makes it better. It has quite a high variance because of the massive jackpot. Therefore, you might feel you win less often than on some other games. However, if you do hit a big normal win, or the jackpot, you're in for a bigger prize. That's the deal. Aside from just the prizes though, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Megapays is a great game. Especially if you like the series, whether it be the modern reboot or the original. There's (cough) major nostalgia vibes here for sure. Packed full of modern slot features and nods to the classic show, Big Time Gaming has done a top job here.
