World Cup 2022 Group F Odds

Football is a sport that evokes a plethora of emotions amongst the millions of fans that the game boasts of. So, we can well imagine the magnitude of interest that the men's football World Cup, a quadrennial event, would generate.

Qatar: The Gracious Hosts

Qatar would host the 22nd edition of the highly anticipated event between November 21st and December 18th. The country is the only Arab country to get this honour and the second Asian country. An assortment of upgraded multi-purpose stadiums spread over five host cities in Qatar would be home to the much sought-after sports extravaganza. The stadiums would reflect the culture and history of Qatar.

World Cup 2022: An Introduction

Thirty-two teams compete across various levels for achieving the final glory, with Qatar qualifying automatically by virtue of the country being the host.

The Format

The different regions will host qualifying matches for the 32 slots. The 32 teams who make the final cut would be divided into 8 groups of four teams each.

Additionally, the draw for deciding the teams in each group would be held on April 1st 2022. After a round of matches within the groups, the top two teams from each group would advance to the round of 16. The winners of a group will play against the runner-up of the next group. So the winner of group A plays against the runner-up of group B and so on.

The round of 16 is where the knockout phase begins. The winners of the matches would proceed to the quarter-finals, then semifinals, and finally the final, where the champion gets to lift the coveted trophy.

The group matches start on November 21st, and the host nation will kick off in the first match. December 3rd marks the beginning of the round of 16 matches, while quarter-finals would be held from December 9th. The Semifinals are on 13th and 14th December. Meanwhile, December 18th would be the World Cup 2022 final at the Lusail Stadium in Doha.

The World Cup Draw

The pandemic has wreaked havoc on the schedules for the qualifying and group stage matches. So, only 30 out of the 32 participating countries will be in the draw that will take place on April 1st, 2022. The last two teams would be decided only on June 2022 after the final confederation playoff games. The gala event will take place in the Qatari capital Doha.

Group F

As per conventions, Group A has Qatar in the top spot, and the next seven top seeds will occupy the top position of the other groups B to H. We guess that Group F might have two teams from the UEFA qualifiers with one AFC and CONCACAF team each. But we can't be sure of anything until after the draw.

The match between the First seed in Group F (F1) and F2 and F3 and F4 is scheduled for November 23rd 2022. On November 27th, F1 and F3 will play against each other, while F2 and F4 will also play on the same day. December 1st will have two matches — F4 vs F1 and F3 vs F2. The top two teams in the group will advance to the round of 16 matches.

FIFA Favourites

Thirty-two nations will play against each other in the tournament. However, there are certain clear favourites even before the event has kicked off. Odds favour five countries: Brazil, France, England, Spain, and Argentina. France is the defending champion and a country to look forward to. The Netherlands is another country with an eclectic mix of young talents and a team to look forward to.

In addition, there are some exciting players to look forward to in this 22md edition of the World Cup.
